The first day of Lean Startup Labs Enterprise Summit is an intensive workshop on the practice of Lean Startup. The day will move through re-introduction of basic principles into a live case study with Sonja Kresojevic from Pearson, and round out with focus on more advanced topics like Innovation Accounting. Led by Aubrey Smith, Lean Startup coach and enterprise innovation ninja.

Facilitated by Aubrey Smith & Jonathan Bertfeld, the pre-summit Workshop will kick off with a brief Lean Startup refresher that is certain to be both informative and interactive. The refresher will help prepare newbies in the audience for the remainder of the Summit.

Experiment Module     11:00 AM – 12:15 PM

Experiments “at scale” with Thor Ernstsson, formerly, the lead architect of Zynga and CTO of Audax (sold to United Healthcare). Thor will be taking requests from the audience to test live hypotheses during the session on his Alpha-UX platform.

Lunch Break – Networking12:15 PM – 12:45 PM

We encourage networking with attendees and coaches in attendance.

Afternoon Session12:45 PM – 5:00 PM

Lean Startup in the Enterprise    12:45 PM – 2:00 PM

Aubrey Smith, early member of GE’s FastWorks initiative, will leverage her experience working with large, F500s on innovation transformation to talk through what it takes to drive a large-scale change within a complex enterprise. During this session, the audience will have the chance to work with expert coaches on exercises focusing on Portfolio Management (believe it or not, everyone has an innovation “portfolio” to govern) and Cultural change.

Live Pearson Case Study    2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Aubrey will conduct a live interview with Sonja Kresojevic, an award-winning innovation leader and SVP of Product Life Cycle at Pearson. Sonja will share details of Pearson’s comprehensive Lean Startup transformation effort. She’ll share the details of her roll out and current support tools, coaches curriculum, the key components of scaling Lean Startup within the enterprise. You are certain to be able to apply what you learn from this session! Her team will then lead a detailed exercise using their portfolio decision-making tools and criteria.

Panel Discussion: The Impact of Lean Startup Transformation on Functional Areas    4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

The day will conclude with a panel discussion with innovation leaders from key functional areas. Aubrey will facilitate a discussion with the panelists on what it takes to accomplish change in R&D, Finance and HR.
