The Lean Startup is an international movement of expert and aspiring practitioners — from both young startups and established companies — seeking to learn what’s next with Lean Startup and modern management techniques. What Does A Host Do?
As an official Lean Startup Summit host and license partner, you will design and produce your own regional production of a Lean Startup Conference, which will be called a Lean Startup Summit. Usually, a region is considered a country (with a few exceptions, like the U.S.A, Canada, and China, which are broken into regions.)
As a host, you are responsible for all costs associated with your production. You keep all profits, sans our trademark & conference licensing fee. All summit partners are required to buy Lean Startup educational materials for each summit attendee, the price of which can be baked into the summit ticket cost.The final attendee list must be shared with Lean Startup Co. within 30 days after the event day, and the attendees will be included in Lean Startup Co.’s official mailing list. Partner’s official conference name must be “Lean Startup Summit [Country/Region]”.
How Does Lean Startup Company Help Me Start?
Project management: A senior member of our team provides all of our hosts with event production advice throughout the process during four calls that involve idea phase, editorial, production and final planning.
Speaker training: We will provide one hour of training to all of your speakers, reviewing their slides and suggesting feedback to ensure they have relevant and engaging talks. We may also recommend speakers if appropriate.
Materials: We provide hosts with templates for all printed material (including badges, booklets, banners, and signs). We provide you with a website template along with website and ticket hosting in our network. We also have templates for sponsor pitches, invoices, speaker invitations and more.
Marketing: We will promote your summit on our social media channels at least three times, and will mention your event in one of our emails highlighting our community partners. However, it is expected that the Partner will be able to reach their revenue goals through their own marketing efforts.
How Do I Apply To Host A Lean Startup Summit?
Complete the application. We will be in touch with you shortly after reviewing to discuss the potential for partnering.
Once you are approved to host, you will need to get at least 200 people to sign-up for your local Lean Startup mailing list. You can then use official meetups to further grow that mailing list. Once you have 400 interested individuals, you can begin planning a local Lean Startup Summit. We will provide you the website and sign-up form to do this. This ensures that you have a community eager and interested in the Summit.
